ASIA AFTER DARK: PEACOCKALYPSE

District Journal scooted off to Asia After Dark: PEACOCKalypse at the Smithsonian’s Freer and Sackler Galleries hosted by the Silk Road Society with music by BETTY and it was pretty much avian psychedelic! We popped into the gilded Peacock Room and then encountered its alter ego FilthyLucre, an installation by New York City-based artist Darren Waterston. The installation was a remix the Peacock Room; this time presented as a resplendent ruin. We dug the Asia After Dark mantra: “Art, Drink, and Be Happy.”
